LC:M AW15 Round-Up

hardy amies london collections men aw15

LC:M AW15 has come to a close. The past week has seen London put its mark on the men’s fashion world once again, and it blew all of us away with the sheer level of talent in our fair city. We went to a few of the shows, and so we bring to you our London Collections: Men AW15 round-up.

Tom Ford

We ended our LC:M AW15 weekend with the Tom Ford viewing. Arguably the King of British Tailoring, Tom Ford has become an expert in the art of surprise as of late. Last year were the trainers, this year, Shearling coats and tennis shoes. Although the tailored pieces were exceptional as always – this season with a focus on the shawl lapel – the Shearling coats designed for downtime were our favourite pieces. Beautifully made and the ideal clothing item for every gentleman in AW15. We also love that Tom has relaxed the ‘no photography’ rules, and even set up the viewing in a photographic studio to make taking photos easier. What a guy.

Duchamp

Duchamp celebrate their 25th anniversary this year, to celebrate they’ve created a collection utilising luxury fabrics . Their viewing in the elegant Scarfes bar of Rosewood London was abundant with evening wear and soft tailoring. Their use of geometric prints printed on luxurious English silk stole the show, and we adored the use of block colours giving the collection a real autumnal look.

Belstaff

Synonymous with leather biker gear, Belstaff have created a collection designed around the 1950’s teenage rebel bikers. A delightful mix of leather, shearling, and knitwear, the collection is for those with a penchant for speed and rebellion, the modern day young biker who wants to flaunt their own unique personality. The colour palette isn’t as vibrant as many of the other designers this season, however Belstaff have stuck to what they know, and they do it so well.

Hardy Amies

Hardy Amies kept to the classics with a stand-out collection of superb tailoring and evening wear. With an excellent selection of double-breasted pieces, Amies also gave a mod to the future with vibrant colours and prints. We particularly loved the outwear and bold block-coloured coats made from fine wool, along with the neutral coat with fur trim on the hood.

Ede and Ravenscroft

While focusing their AW15 collection on the style and elegance of the Edwardian era, once again we see glimpses of Shearling, it is clearly very much at the forefront of everyone’s minds for AW15. Not that we’re complaining. With structured silhouettes and soft luxurious fabrics from England and Italy, Ede & Ravenscroft have come up trumps with a collection worthy of any sartorial gentleman. We particularly like the opulent deep red and navy velvet formal pieces.

Barbour

And so, we see ourselves at the very beginning of AGLAIA’s LC:M AW15 experience. The very vintage-themed Barbour show. Think tweed, wool, corduroy, and waxed-jackets. Everything that makes you think of Barbour was present, but with varying styles and designs. The stand-out piece was a waxed cotton parka with a Donegal tweed lining.
