With its garland lined doors open once again now is the perfect time to enjoy a selection of celebratory menus and wine pairings at the three Michelin starred Alain Ducasse restaurant located at The Dorchester in London’s Mayfair area.

Created by Executive Head Chef Jean Philippe Blondet and Head Pastry Chef Thibault Hauchard, the exquisite menus encapsulate the spirit of Christmas in every dish and showcase the very best in seasonal ingredients.

On Christmas Eve, guests can enjoy dishes such as ‘Parmentier’ Velouté, black truffle’, ‘Line-caught sea bass parsnip and citrus’ and feast on ‘Duck breast, butternut, fermented shallots’. To conclude it is recommended one indulges in the ‘Yule Log our way’, a twist on a classic Christmas dessert.

With presents dutifully unwrapped we move onto the equally desirable Christmas Day menu which features dishes such as ‘Cauliflower velouté sea scallops, gold caviar’ and ‘Scottish langoustine, Jerusalem artichoke and red shiso’ for a truly memorable Christmas celebration.

Looking ahead to the adventures of 2021, the New Year’s Eve menu is composed of dishes such as ‘Cookpot of native lobster, pumpkin, white truffle’ and ‘Fillet of Denbighshire vension, parsnip and black truffle’.

The culinary wizardry isn’t the only element to be impressed by this festive season, designed by duo Jouin Manku, who collaborated on Ducasse Paris projects in Paris, Monaco and Las Vegas, the restaurant’s interior setting draws inspiration from the greenery of Hyde Park nearby and the fashion flair of the Mayfair boutiques.

The notable jewel of the restaurant is the stunning ‘Table Lumière’, a semi-private room surrounded by 4,500 shimmering fibre optics dropping dramatically from the ceiling. This striking structural masterpiece is adorned with specially selected sets of Hermès china, Puiforcat silverware and Saint-Louis crystal for a bespoke table setting. The result is an enchanting dining experience for up to 6 people within their household.

Whilst the fondest memories are indeed made gathered around a table, the fondest memories of all are the ones made over the festive season.
