A lavish and luxurious experience, the Waldorf Astoria’s afternoon tea offering is exceptionally well done with creative pastries and delicious savoury treats. This is one to bring the children to as they offer a special children’s menu – complete with babychino!
Colonnades At The Signet Library
Set in a neoclassical library, the Colonnades offers a substantial afternoon tea. This is one for the literary lovers, as you can bite into the moreish cakes whilst being surrounded by acclaimed works of literature. The Colonnades use seasonal ingredients and there are gluten-free and vegetarian options available too. You must try the ‘Signet Gin’ cocktail, which is made using their own gin which was created in partnership with Edinburgh Gin.
The Palace of Holyroodhouse
The afternoon tea at the cafe at the Palace of Holyroodhouse is by no means a luxury affair, however it’s a lovely option if you’re visiting the Palace and they do an excellent selection of homemade cakes! We highly recommend sitting out on the terrace and nibbling on the homemade fruit cake.
