“If you can’t be better than your competition, just dress better.” – Anna Wintour

Wise words from the editor-in-chief of Vogue and advice that can easily be accomplished with a pair of Crockett & Jones shoes, made all the more simpler with the opening of their new store in New York’s Soho area.

Now with their second New York based store, Crockett & Jones have added the Lower Manhattan store to their retail portfolio.

Located on 156 Spring Street, the English handmade shoe manufacturer has opened a comfortable and welcoming shop for its American based customers.

Paying homage to the industrial and artistic heritage of the neighbourhood, the architectural design has been conceptualised to compliment the surrounding area. Stand out features of the Spring Street store include exposed reclaimed brick walls, a contemporary fireplace that only burns locally sourced wood, bespoke furniture and the opening up of a glass roof ceiling that brings in natural sunlight at the far end of the retail space.

With the brand celebrating 140 years of what has become one of the worlds finest shoemakers, the family run British brand continue to put the shoe at the heart of its operation. The brand’s leaders maintain that if a product has a great recipe, offers value for money and stays attune to world trends, prospective customers will continue to join the ranks alongside so many faithful Crockett & Jones regulars, whom have already taken the leap of ‘Goodyear-welted’ faith.

This well trodden path has seen their iconic styles from the Pembroke or Chelsea 5 to the jaunty tassel loafers in Cavendish and Carly provide a versatile collection to suit everyone’s tastes.

Speaking of the new store opening, Kevin Hill, Regional Manager of Crockett & Jones New York comments that “when people think of SoHo, visions of cast iron buildings with the requisite fire escapes line streets paved with sett stones. It’s an area of Manhattan that has been the epicentre of mercantile and dry-goods trades, as well as the textile industry.

I am proud to announce the opening of our SoHo store at 156 Spring Street. We’ve endeavoured to create a comfortable and welcoming shop for our customers, paying homage to the industrial and artistic heritage of the neighbourhood.”

Both the Men’s and the Women’s collections will be available from the new Crockett & Jones Soho store. With a slight lean towards the ‘trendier’, casual offering from Crockett & Jones, the Northamptonshire based brand will also be showcasing all of the footwear icons that have become household names for so many over the years.

The new store can be found at 156 Spring Street, SoHo, New York – the first step forward in dressing better than your competition!
