1. Harrods Christmas Grotto
Closed as of 2025
Many of our readers to this article arrive searching for information on the Harrods Christmas Grotto, as the Harrods Father Christmas experience used to be the most exclusive in London. From 1955 until 2019 the Grotto was free to members of the public before they then changed it to invite-only. However, as of 2025 it is sadly closed, with no official plans to reopen the Grotto, but you can still visit their magical Harrods Christmas shop!
In the years when the Harrods Grotto was open, visits included a secret gift from Father Christmas and an experience that felt similar to a magical wonderland from the moment you enter the store. Harrods provided one of the most authentic looking Father Christmas’s that you could come across and there were Christmas activities for the children to take part in as they made their journey through a magical experience to meet Father Christmas.
