AG Reviews: Meliá White House London

Melia White House Regents Park London

“When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford.” – Samuel Johnson

The Meliá White House is a luxury hotel located on the edge of London’s Regents Park. A clean, bright and modern hotel offering, Meliá White House is perfectly located for those wishing to frequent a number of London’s most popular attractions.

With the tree lined pathways and formal gardens of Regents Park, the world’s oldest scientific zoo – London Zoo, the waxwork world of Madame Tussauds and even Harry Potter’s world-famous Platform 9 ¾ the location couldn’t be better placed for the city explorer within you.

Originally built in 1935, the Meliá White House has recently refurbished its 581 luxurious rooms and 112 apartments within the confines of the beautiful avant-garde architecture. You would however, be forgiven for thinking it had half that number given its spacious and modern layout with rooms and apartments spread over eight floors.

Rooms & Suites

All rooms offer en-suite bathrooms, hairdryers and beauty mirrors, air conditioning, complimentary Wi-Fi and high-speed internet connection, flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, 24-hour room service, direct dial telephone and UK/EU/US sockets.

The rooms include the Deluxe double room, Premium Room King Bed, The Level Premium Room, The Level Wellness Premium Wellness by Stay Well, The Level Family Room, Connecting Premium Rooms, Deluxe Twin Bedroom and Connecting Deluxe Room. All of which play host to pieces of humorous artwork that adds some entertaining colour to the modern furnishings and interior décor.

For those looking for more space and opulence, the suites available will provide just that. From The Level Junior Suite, the grand Regent’s Suite, or the VIP Marylebone Suite the Meliá White House can cater for all visitors and occasions.

The hotel also prides itself on being perfect for families offering spacious family rooms and free stay for children up to 5 years with children aged 6-12 years old paying 50% off the adult rate.

Amenities & Restaurants

A good measure of any hotel is its breakfast offering and Meliá White House can pride itself on a breakfast spread to rival the best of them. From its made-to-order fresh fruit juices by the hotel’s on-hand chef to its wide selection of breads, dried fruits and cereals, the biggest problem you’ll have is where to start and when to stop.

Other options available to guests includes expertly crafted cocktails in the new Nineteenthirtyfive Bar and Lounge or a sumptuous meal in the Arado Restaurant as it looks to mix traditional and contemporary cuisine in chic Spanish-inspired settings, though neither of these options were available during our stay.

For those reserving ‘The Level’ room or suite the hotel offers complimentary breakfast, all-day snacks and evening bar service and tapas. The service also includes a small tapas tasting as aperitivo available in the room.

If you need to conduct any business affairs on site, the hotel’s recently refurbished executive lounge for The Level guests and new meeting rooms offers the perfect sanctuary enabling you to work in a professional business environment. Whilst if physical activity is your preference, the fully equipped 24-hour gym is on hand to raise the heart rate and activate those endorphins.

Final Thoughts

Whilst the hotel notes that certain refurbishment works remain ongoing, the evidence of them was rarely seen during our stay as the hotel was clean and quiet throughout.

Overall, the Meliá White House is a modern and spacious hotel that enables access to some of London’s best tourist attractions, we would however recommend stocking up on the morning pain au chocolat as you’re going to need the energy for all that city exploration.
