How Sheraton Melbourne Is Changing Melbourne’s Hotel Market

Melbourne is a cosmopolitan city with a vibrant culture, Australia’s top restaurants and bars, and a plethora of luxury hotels. With such an overwhelming choice of hotels, it can be difficult to choose which one to stay at. However, many of them are now dated and in desperate need of a refresh and while the likes of the Grand Hyatt and Langham have lost their charm, Sheraton Melbourne Hotel is changing the hotel landscape in Melbourne with its on-trend interior design and impeccable service.

Not only is the Sheraton Melbourne Hotel improving the Melbourne hotel market, but the entire style of the Sheraton brand. Sheraton hotels are usually rather bland and focused on business travellers, but this particular Sheraton has clearly taken inspiration from the Australian QT brand with their design-led approach. The unique personality of the hotel’s Melbourne property is a quality that could easily set the Sheraton brand apart from the other typical business-focused hotel chains if others followed suit.

The Rooms & Suites at Sheraton Melbourne

Every room in Sheraton features a luxury marble bathroom with a large picture window behind the bath to allow the bedroom’s natural light through. Don’t worry though, there’s an electronic screen to allow for privacy!

The bedrooms themselves are filled with natural light from the large windows, and feature the signature comfortable Sheraton beds with silky soft sheets and marshmallow pillows. The contemporary style of the bedrooms is certainly trendy rather than classic, so perfect for the growing number of younger SPG fans.

A Tranquil Spa and Swimming Pool

The steam room and swimming pool is located right next to the rooftop terrace, so offers an excellent view from the large picture window, and is ideal for a few morning laps before you go down for breakfast. Behind the pool the luxury spa offers a range of treatments, from facials to massages.

The Bars and Restaurants

Little Collins St Kitchen is the location of breakfast, and is one of the most impressive hotel buffets I have ever had the pleasure of trying. With a traditional freshly cooked breakfast as well as a wide variety of baked goods, pastries, fruit, meats, and cheeses, they also offer the most adorable fresh juices I have ever seen. How can juices be adorable I hear you ask? Well, by serving them in single serve glass bottles!

Just a short walk from the swimming pool is the rooftop terrace, where the bar serves up delectable cocktails. Perfect for sunset drinks looking out over the city, relax into one of the plush chairs whilst sipping on a glass of Veuve Clicquot or an Espresso Martini. The bar also serve a wide selection of mouth-watering tapas to whet your appetite.

The Service at Sheraton Melbourne Hotel

Sheraton Melbourne Hotel’s service was on-par with the likes of Belmond La Résidence d’Angkor. Every staff member made us feel right at home, even when my flight was delayed by 24 hours due to the weather conditions at Sydney airport.
