Virtual Art Exhibitions To Enjoy During Lockdown

augustus john iris beerbohm - London Art Week Digital

At this time of year, Amanda Aldous is usually getting ready for her annual summer exhibition, but this year with social distancing still very much in place, Amanda is preparing for two online summer exhibitions instead. And Amanda isn’t the only one with a new digital platform, London Art Week will be making the most of an at-home audience and going digital with their online exhibition starting in early July with 40 dealers participating from galleries around the world covering all pre-Contemporary art.

London Art Week Digital

London Art Week is launching a new online platform for Summer 2020. LAW DIGITAL will take place from 3 – 10 July 2020, with a Private View on Thursday 2 July.

The format enables London Art Week to retain its unique community of international art dealers, auction houses, museums and sponsors, all working together in the creation of a special event online. LAW DIGITAL has been created to augment the experience of London Art Week’s in-gallery exhibitions, talks and shared scholarly values; real-life shows will take place if possible.

A unique collection of enticing London Art Week virtual viewing rooms will be curated according to category of art and present works from all participants side by side. These mixed exhibitions will allow clients the chance to come across works from a wide variety of dealers as well as auction houses; presented together for the first time, the virtual presentations will create a new experience in the viewing of pre-contemporary art for sale. This exclusive format will also provide participants with a greater chance of being discovered by new clients, therefore increasing potential sale leads.

Amanda Aldous Fine Art

Amanda Aldous Fine Art has taken her Modern British and Contemporary Art exhibitions online with her garden sculpture exhibition in June and her summer exhibition opening in July. From 1st to 30th June 2020, Amanda is “Celebrating sculpture outside the home” with an online exhibition of work by sculptures in a variety of different mediums, including glass, stainless steel, slate and stone.

This year’s July exhibition will be online from 1st to 31st July (although check for more information online in case Government guidelines change). It still looks like we may not be able to travel widely and many will miss a trip to Cornwall, so Amanda is also currently curating an exhibition of Cornish Art, to ensure you can have that beautiful holiday feel in your home all year round.

Attracted by the ‘quality of light’, Cornwall has been a haven to artists since the beginning of the 20th Century. Colonies have grown up around it’s craggy coastline notably in St. Ives, Newlyn and Lamorna, producing some of the most exciting and important British Art of the 20th Century.
