The Savoy, the only luxury hotel situated on London’s River Thames has a new superstar in town and her name is Judi Jackson. Long renowned for hosting some of London’s most elegant parties and glittering events, Live at The Savoy is the five star hotel’s latest entertainment package to grace the vibrant art deco walls.
Launching the series as The Savoy’s Musician in Residence last month, Judi Jackson is a highly-acclaimed Virginia-born jazz vocalist and performer. Frequently on the road, Ms Jackson has sold out headline shows worldwide. With collaborations from Warner Music’s George Moor and Michael League, member of Grammy award-winning band Snarky Puppy, Jackson’s soulful tones are highly sought after.
Jackson’s residence see her entertain the crowds in The Savoy’s Thames Foyer once a month, with her next performance coming on Friday 24 May. Anticipating high demand for Jackson’s musical talents, The Savoy has also enlisted the talents of award winning jazz vocalist Jalen N’Gonda.
Hailed as ‘a voice full of nuances and golden songs’ at the 2018 Montreux Jazz Talen Awards, N’Gonda was selected as one of three winners by an Artists Committee comprising of renowned artists Aloe Blacc, Richard Bona, Derrick Hodge, and Bugge Wesseltoft.
For those of you looking to pair an evening of live music with an evening of culinary classics, The Savoy can equally cater for this demand as well.
Drawing inspiration from the Auguste Escoffier, the legendary director of chefs’ at The Savoy in the late 1800s, the menu has been split into three stages of a literary classic – Prologue, suggested for between 7pm to 8.30pm; The Story, suggested for between 8.30pm to 10.30pm; Epilogue, the closing act on what is set to be a wonderful evening of entertainment and energy.
Judi Jackson’s next residency will be Friday 24 May followed by Thursday 20 June and Thursday 25 July. Jalen N’Gonda can be seen next on Thursday 16 May and Friday 7 June. Tickets for Live at The Savoy are priced at £25 per person with an additional minimum spend on food & beverage required at £20 per person.
