Selfridges Forest On The Roof London Restaurant

Forest Restaurant and Bar will open for a new winter season on 20th October, the rooftop transformed into a glittering party, set in an alpine forest. A new winter menu brings an abundance of fresh ingredients, championing and celebrating the finest British produce.

Selfridges and restaurateur Des McDonald have collaborated for a sixth season on the iconic rooftop restaurant and will be transforming the space into a golden, winter forest for shoppers and party goers in the festive spirit.

Forest’s beautiful walkway entrance will be decorated with glitter balls and gold and glitter accents throughout the restaurant provide the perfect shimmery wintry retreat. DJ’s will bring the party to life Thursday through to Sunday ensuring guests are treated to the latest dance floor fillers.

The new winter menu, created by Lee Bull, Group Executive Chef for Des McDonald Restaurants will focus on British ingredients and Scottish game. A late Breakfast is served Monday to Saturday, from 11am to 12pm, the menu features dishes such as; Avocado on toast with spiced pumpkin seeds and cress; and Chocolate toasted marshmallow and hazelnut waffle.

Lunch and dinner is served seven days a week; highlights from the Starters include: House cured salmon, pickled cucumber and horseradish blinis; and Braised ox cheek served with grilled polenta. An array of main courses include, Organic salmon with wilted fennel and Cornish clams and Highland venison fillet with bashed neeps and a sour cherry sauce.

For a true winter celebration, Bull has created a selection of feasting dishes, designed for sharing – these pre-ordered dishes will be presented to guests in the centre of the table. This includes Whole suckling pig, roasted apple and josper grilled autumn vegetables; Bannockburn Beef wellington, charred purple sprouting broccoli and truffled jus and Highland tomahawk steaks, herb baked split bone marrow.

Head Pastry Chef Siobhan Ambrose will continue to amaze diners with her beautiful desserts and afternoon tea, including a stunning Chocolate Disco, Lemon & frozen rose and a Chocolate & hazelnut delice.

The outdoor Terrace Bar, with its own separate entrance, features cosy festive huts, perfect for sharing festive drinks. The huts are also available to hire, and make the ideal spot for an intimate Christmas party. The drinks list includes a bespoke sharing cocktail menu, Magnums of Skinny Prosecco, Hot cider cocktails, Gluhwein, Forest’s famous Choctails and mulled red wine.
