Chinese New Year at Hakkasan

hakkasan chinese new year

This Chinese New Year, Michelin-starred Hakkasan will be honoring the Chinese “Wishing Tree” tradition by collecting wishes from around the world as well as offering a nine dish festive feast perfect for family and friends during this celebratory time.

Inspired by the ‘Wishing Tree’ in Hong Kong, all Hakkasan locations across the globe are inviting guests to share their hopes for 2015 by writing their wishes on specially designed wishing ribbons that will be placed throughout the restaurants during the festive period.

Hakkasan Nightclub in Las Vegas will also partake by displaying a grand scale wishing tree at the entrance of the 80,000-square-foot-venue. Wishes will be collected from guests each night and a random selection of wishes will be displayed on the LED screens of the main room of the nightclub.

Known for its modern approach to traditional Cantonese cuisine, Hakkasan’s limited edition menu created by Michelin-starred Executive Head Chef Tong Chee Hwee will include a selection of its acclaimed signature dishes as well as a contemporary interpretation on authentic Chinese New Year fare.

To welcome the start of the Year of the Sheep, Hakkasan will feature entertainment to highlight the New Year. Believed to bring good luck and fortune, the lion dance will be at the epicenter of the restaurant’s celebration, performed on Sunday 22nd February as part of the restaurant’s Chinese New Year celebration. Lion troupes will make their way through the intimate latticed woodwork cages of Hakkasan, offering symbolic expressions of luck, fortune, wisdom and joy.

The Chinese New Year menu is available for £88.88 per person. A la carte items will be individually priced, starting at £12.88. The wish collection and signature menu will be available to guests from 8th February – 1st March. Find out more at hakkasan.com.
