A Luxurious City Stay at Langham Hotel Sydney

langham hotel sydney review luxury five star hotel

Langham Hotel Group have some of the most luxurious and beautiful hotels in the world. They are renowned for their classic furnishings and soft pink touches, ensuring a sumptuous but relaxing stay, and their Sydney property is no different to the likes of the Langham in London or NYC. All share in the affinity of going above and beyond for their guests, whilst providing a luxurious place to rest your head after a long day of pounding the pavements sight-seeing and dining at world-class restaurants.

The Langham in Sydney is located in the Rocks area of Sydney, which is the oldest area and where you’ll find colonial architecture set against the backdrop of the shining modern skyscrapers of the CBD. Sitting right opposite the Sydney Observatory, running up here at sunset to see the Sydney Harbour Bridge turn an orange hue is just magical. The location means you’re close enough to the city that you can easily walk everywhere, but far enough a way that you get a small glimpse into what it’s like residing in Sydney’s suburbs.

As with most Langham properties, the bedrooms are a mix of classic luxury with contemporary artwork and design features. Even the smallest entry level rooms are well sized, with small balconies overlooking the CBD and pretty streets below, whilst on the upper-end of the scale the $3,000AUD a night Observatory Suite features a functional fireplace within the double drawing room, and a grand dining room with enough space for eight diners.

The Chuan Spa is the ideal place to relax and unwind after a long day, with an excellent range of massages and treatments on offer, and the breathtaking pool below hundreds of twinkling stars in the ceiling.

Should you be in need of exercise to work off all those Gelato Messina calories, there is a gym and tennis courts across the road which are owned by Langham Sydney. Tennis court fees range from $25AUD-$30AUD per hour, with equipment hire at $5AUD should you need rackets and balls. The Langham also provide one of the most glamorous and famous High Tea’s in Sydney, which is unmissable with its Australian twist – they provide a Cherry Lamington with the sweets!

Compared to other luxury hotels in Sydney, The Langham is certainly the most beautiful and luxurious. The Shangri-La and Four Seasons are both incredibly dated these days and in desperate need of a refurbishment, and the boutique luxuries such as Ovovo and Spicers Potts Point are just too far out of the city for those only in town for a short time.
